教室賞各賞の謂れ
坪田賞（教室賞）
坪田望さんは、昭和40年に歩行障害、斜視、排尿障害などを主訴に慈恵医大小児科に入院し、脳幹部腫瘍と診断されました。その後、東京大学脳神経外科に転院し、精査の結果、橋部の腫瘍と診断され、手術適応はなく、放射線療法を行い、やや軽快しました。しかし、程なく悪化し、除脳強直肢位となり、最後はご両親の希望で、慈恵医大でお看取りとなりました。しばらくしてから、ご両親が望さんの香典の一部を慈恵医大小児科に寄付したいと申し出られ、その基金により設けられた賞です。最も優れた論文を発表した先生に授与されます。
岡副・吉岡賞（研究奨励賞）
岡副哲さん（病名不明）が亡くなられた後にご家族から寄付があり、その基金に基づいて1960年代に設けられた賞です。はじめは「岡副賞」とされていましたが、平成20年代に元同窓会会長の吉岡和之先生が慈恵医大小児科のために寄付してくださった基金を元に、「岡副・吉岡賞」という名称に改められました。大学院生の最優秀論文に対して授与されます。
赤羽賞
同窓の赤羽千枝子先生（昭和26年卒）が小児科学講座のためにお金を寄付されたのを契機に2003年から設けられた賞です。優れた臨床研究論文を発表した先生に授与されます。
のんちゃん賞
沖村典子さん（のんちゃん）は、ミトコンドリア脳筋症で慈恵医大小児科に通院中でしたが、残念ながら亡くなられました。当時、慈恵医大本院で総看護師長を務められていた典子さんのお母様が、娘さんがお世話になったという感謝の意を込めて小児科学講座のためにお金を寄付されたのを契機に1989年から設けられた賞です。優れた症例報告の論文を発表した若手医師に授与されます。
レジデント優秀論文大賞
医学の進歩には若い世代の頃からの探究心が不可欠であり、専門医資格取得を目指すレジデント（後期臨床研修医）も、研修期間中に研究へ積極的に取り組むことが推奨されます。講座のさらなる発展を見据え、2024年度より、3学年のレジデントの中で最も研究活動に貢献し優れた成果を挙げた者を表彰し、「レジデント優秀論文大賞」として後期臨床研修医に授与されます。
